I am really very good on the clutch, having driven a stick for many years - and when I wasn't sore after working out - I didn't have an issue - though I still wouldn't want someone right behind me on that hill. It is amazing to me that they didn't even think about that issue and placed the machines on the very steepest part of the incline for no need whatsoever. There is a flat section just feet earlier - or later - at the Aria. I guess we will have to wait and see what happens with the whole experiment. I can only hope that they will conclude that it wasn't worth it -or that online poker returns in a way that lets us play with the rest of the world. If I could play on global Pokerstars, I wouldn't care about parking anywhere in Vegas. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8283462864090963789.post-46470994776216978442016-08-03T21:50:59.109-07:002016-08-03T21:50:59.109-07:00Thanks, Anony. I am Diamond at Caesars because I play online on wsop.com enough to get that status (yes I am a sicko) - so I will never go there if I have to pay for parking either. I am very very sad about this development because I think that though it won't affect me directly, it will hurt the games. Oh, but I almost forgot my biggest complaint - in all of the properties that I have tried out the new parking meters, they placed them on a very steep incline. I drive a stick shift (and a motorcycle) - and the other day, I had worked out very hard and my calves were super sore. When I squeezed the clutch and tried to ease off it and onto the gas, I screeched the tires so bad that I think I might actually need new tires. I haven't tried it on my motorcycle yet but I likely won't given the likelihood of dropping it if I am not perfect coming off the clutch. Obviously whoever decided where to put these parking machines has no clue about stick shifts or motorcycles. Even automatics often end up screeching the tires as they try to make it up such a steep incline from a stop. They really need to do something about that.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8283462864090963789.post-85994241114167502492016-05-16T21:51:36.880-07:002016-05-16T21:51:36.880-07:00Well, yes, once the paid for parking kicking, abso...Well, yes, once the paid for parking kicking, absolutely they will add that to the equation. I said they wouldn't pay. I suppose rooms could end up compete for the grinders by offering the best parking deal.

If CET starts charging for parking too, players might pick the one they are already qualified for or closest to qualifying.

You do have some grinders who don't have favorite rooms and prefer to play all around town. Like our friend Poker Grump. He didn't have a preferred room, he played pretty much anyway. Not sure if he played enough hours to qualify for free parking at every place that could conceivably start charging.Robhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05767080296489122846noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8283462864090963789.post-87170725491451387862016-05-16T21:46:59.130-07:002016-05-16T21:46:59.130-07:00Thanks, Scott....true enough.

In other words, if I'm a local grinder, wouldn't I play where I already get free parking and don't have to factor that into my hourly equation? The Poker Meisterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18289059101454598371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8283462864090963789.post-67094998765245688102016-05-16T18:50:43.293-07:002016-05-16T18:50:43.293-07:00OK, seriously now...
I already addressed the pay ...OK, seriously now...

I already addressed the pay for parking in other cities...the difference is CASINOS. They charge you ton by inviting you in to lose your next mortgage payment at games that are rigged in favor of the house. That's a big difference.

Now, every day, people visit Vegas for the first time ever. Those people will likely readily accept the parking fee, as you said you would last time. But there are TONS of Vegas regulars. And not just from CA, AZ and other neighboring states. I see regulars who visit multiple time a year, visitors from all over the country and all over the world. Look at our friends PPP and Mr. Ben. One of them is almost always in Vegas, from England or some strange place on the East coast.

These are the people--if they drive in or rent a car--who will be miffed and it might just be for some of them (Like my pals that I mentioned the post) that this will be the straw that broke the camel's back.

Those local grinders are total whores for whoever has the best deal. They will switch rooms at the drop of a hat if someone gives them a reason to. Remember, unlike your neck of the woods, there are 30 plus rooms to choose from. Someone comes up with a better freeroll or some other promo they think is +EV, and they will run to it.

When MGM recently got rid of their freeroll at the beginning of the year, I can think, off the top of my head, of a dozen or so guys I always saw in the room that were no longer coming around. I ran into a couple of them in other rooms and asked where they were playing...it was in other freeroll rooms, not MGM.

These people are obsessed with their hourlys, with the comps, with the deals....if they factored in parking fees into that they would tell you they can't beat that and the rake.

If you think for a minute that a single Vegas poker reg would keep playing in a room on the Strip where he had to pay for park, you don't know these people.Robhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05767080296489122846noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8283462864090963789.post-23794379879888384382016-05-16T18:36:32.503-07:002016-05-16T18:36:32.503-07:00Umm, thanks.Umm, thanks.Robhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05767080296489122846noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8283462864090963789.post-49504932579197604902016-05-16T17:23:21.672-07:002016-05-16T17:23:21.672-07:00BLAH BLAH PARKING PARKING !!!!!!!! we got real pro...BLAH BLAH PARKING PARKING !!!!!!!! we got real problems sir. I have my doubts whether the new parking charges will deter anyone. Thinking with my tourist hat on, I've become accustomed to nickel & dime-ing; almost every luxury hotel where I stay now charges for parking. Parking charges are particularly pervasive in high density areas such as cities. The Vegas strip does indeed qualify as a high density area. Therefore, I would expect to have to pay for parking while there. In fact, last I was there, I was actually surprised I didn't have to pay for parking when I stayed at the Linq Hotel.

Now, thinking with my locals / poker player hat on, I'm already playing at the poker room to whom I pledge allegiance. Therefore, I'm likely to already qualify for the free parking. Not having an in-depth knowledge of the poker scene in Vegas, do the local grinders switch rooms night over night? I'd be surprised because it's in-optimal given rewards, credits, gifts, etc. Perhaps I'm completely off-base with the assumptions I made as far as a local / grinder. The Poker Meisterhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/18289059101454598371noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8283462864090963789.post-63692297093123735902016-05-16T10:01:20.139-07:002016-05-16T10:01:20.139-07:00Thanks....I'm glad I'm GOLD too....but can...Thanks....I'm glad I'm GOLD too....but can I maintain it?

Thanks for the confirm on the Rio shuttle

That Gold Coast/Orleans shuttle used to go to Barbary Coast when it was owned by the same folks.
