I have been lucky in this case. I didn't run up against many sets or pocket pairs. I always fold quickly in this case. Try to minimize the risk. This is why I love position. People underrate it. You had a great retort to TBC's judgment of your character a few days ago too, BTW.

Interesting you're just now leaving Vegas, in a few days I will be spending half a week in Laughlin, mostly playing tourneys. If anything memorable happens I'll try to write you up something for here, but believe me I understand if at this point you'll take up a "believe it when I see it" posture. :-)

Oh, and Hawaiian Gardens is STILL waiting for their new building to get completed. In the meantime they're still in the huts. Will continue to keep you apprised there as well, now they're saying May or June for the new grand opening.qdpstevehttp://robvegaspoker.blogspot.com/2016/03/leaving-las-vegas.html#comment-formnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8283462864090963789.post-51151349678436141482016-03-23T17:39:28.064-07:002016-03-23T17:39:28.064-07:00Thanks, Darryl. But honestly, the reason I go to Vegas to play poker is to play in the Strip rooms. I've got locals rooms in L.A., I don't need to cross the state line for that.

I'm trying different rooms on the Strip to change my luck, and haven't run out of rooms to try.

Honestly, Vegas itself has just gone hill. I'm talking Vegas globally. But Vegas poker ain't what it used to be. I probably can't write what I really think is happening to Vegas poker without putting my employment in jeopardy.

But this right now....just epic card dead syndrome.Robhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05767080296489122846noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8283462864090963789.post-19762422255888445382016-03-23T15:48:51.895-07:002016-03-23T15:48:51.895-07:00Being card dead is not a guaranteed loss. I usually react to being card dead by tightening my play rather than relaxing my range. When you start playing marginal hand out of position good things usually don't happen.
Makarschukhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03846480318988233215noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8283462864090963789.post-14531322326541949012016-03-23T15:19:00.732-07:002016-03-23T15:19:00.732-07:00I think that Nick has the right idea, especially i...I think that Nick has the right idea, especially if the MGM casinos really are going to charge for parking. Your blogs are great to read, and while poker in CA can be blog worthy, it wouldn't be the same if there were no more Vegas stories.

Have you ever considered playing at an off-strip local's style casino?
