If you check the turn, he either checks behind or bets. If he checks behind, you probably get it in on the river the same way you did on the turn -- bet, get raised, make the correct call. If he bets, you're probably calling a bet, and then getting it in on the river. A couple of things....Thanks for the great input.

A couple of things.

First, unless he was profiling by my appearance, I don't think he has enough info to mark me as a nit. This was early in the session, at this point no one had info on anyone but Stan who was just catching cards. The rest of us were reduced to watching, really didn't get a feel for anyone.

So....I could have easily had a set of 10's (or 8's) there.

I put him on the flush draw. And yes, he was the last to act on the turn. And that's why I bet the turn, I didn't want to give him a free card to catch his flush. But I also thought he might have had just a 10, he isn't fold a 10 on the flop, for sure.

And maybe I didn't make it clear, but I was ok getting it all in with just an overpair, because of the stack-to-pot ratio. Maybe that's the part I'm thinking incorrectly about.Robhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05767080296489122846noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8283462864090963789.post-36742877932309732512016-01-18T09:28:16.309-08:002016-01-18T09:28:16.309-08:00The guy calling with 9's isn't making a ba...The guy calling with 9's isn't making a bad flop call. You can't put everyone on an over pair or you will be folding too much. He was hoping to catch a redraw. If he does he will call your next bet if he doesn't then he folds. He knows that flop didn't hit you since you have a tight range so worst case for him is you have AA. He happened to not hit a redraw but his money card. My question is what hand did you put him on in that hand? If he was the last caller he was priced in so 10/9 and 10/8 are both very likely in his range. The biggest mistake was betting the turn for the reason you mentioned which is trying to avoid going all in when all you have is top pair.Anonymoushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07325238498702177923noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8283462864090963789.post-4948769506096006892016-01-18T07:34:31.104-08:002016-01-18T07:34:31.104-08:00Thanks, appreciate the comment and the feedback, ...Thanks, appreciate the comment and the feedback, Yeah, he hit a two outer on me, bad suckout.
