As Seen on The Big Bang Theory.....

The Big Bang Theory is one of the very few TV shows I watch regularly these days. It's very funny, and also, it reminds me of the group of friends I hung out with when I was the age of the guys in the show.  OK, so we weren't geniuses, but we were definitely "quirky" like the boys and we did have pretty much the same interests as the characters on the show.  And, there have been many conversations on the show that I seem to remember having with my friends multiple times back in the day.  Sometimes, I swear, they were listening to us back then and using that for material.

One difference though; we unfortunately didn't have a hot blonde babe like Kaley Cuoco hanging out with us.

Last night I returned home from Vegas and collapsed on my couch in exhaustion.  Unable to drag myself off the couch to do anything, I saw there were unwatched episodes of the show waiting for me on my TiVo.  I watched the earliest one and was quite amused by one exchange early in the show.

It seems that Raj had just discovered the blog of the girl he's been dating.  As he read it aloud to Howard, he was devastated to find out the girl recently went on a date with a guy named "Roger" who has the same heritage and same profession as Raj.  He assumed that this meant she was stepping out on him.

So Howard had to explain, "People change names on blogs to protect their privacy.  'Roger' is 'Raj'."

Ahem.

Once again, that show is stealing from my life.

So take that, those of you who complain about the pseudonyms I use here. The policy is officially endorsed by the #1 sitcom in the country.

(I tried to find a link online to that scene, but couldn't find one)

Anyway, now that I'm back, "regular" blogging should resume shortly.  Don't worry, I'm not turning this into a TV blog, despite these last two posts.  And if I can get to it, my next post should feature another very attractive blonde, this one I met in the flesh.

  1. Yes, the first thing I noticed about TBBT was how much it resembled the people you hang out with.

Don't let LoveMalts hear you say there was no hot blonde hanging out with you.

    1. Thanks, DW. Regarding LM, well, I was actually thinking of the era before I even met her, when we were in our 20's, like the guys in the show (or when it started, anyway). And even later, when she started hanging out with us, it was only occasionally. Penny is there with them every week. Also, I've never considered her a blonde. But I suppose I could have made it clearer by saying we never hung out with hot blonde SHIKSA, which Penny definitely is and LM definitely is not!

I have no idea what your comment means, but it is great to hear from you.

(Oh, I know what "omfg" stands for, I just don't know what you're trying to tell me).

      Welcome back.
