Pay to Play? Las Vegas Picks Up Its Poker Game

My new column for Ante Up is now online and can be found here.

The issue is already in poker rooms around the country.

Note:  This is the column I wrote after the power failure, as discussed in this post here.

  1. Rob, do you know where I could find info on where WSOP satellites for the Main Event will be held in April 2014?

And yes, love the blog. Wish you would join in more at the TBC RTP thread. :-)

  2. Thanks very much steve! Yeah, I haven't spent much time at all on RTP. Keeping up with Tony just on his blog is fairly time consuming itself.

Have you checked the WSOP site itself? You can find all the circuit events if that's what you mean. I don;t know if they have "official" satellites before the series starts, but I know poker rooms around the country sometimes have events in which the prize is a seat in the ME or another ring event. But a lot of those are pretty independent of the WSOP. We'll list them on Poker Atlas when they are close and they release the schedule, but I'm not sure how you could find about anything happening in April now.

Caesars Palace has a "WSOP Warm Up" event in late April but I just checked and they don't seem to be giving away any WSOP seats for it.

    1. You might try contacting the WSOP through their website and see if you can get any kind of response.

  3. Just wondering why Ante Up doesn't have a pseudonym -- like maybe maybe Uncle Down?

    1. Since I've already used the real name, maybe I can convince them to change the name of the magazine so that Ante Up becomes a pseudonym.
