I apologize for the lack of "real" content lately. I just got back from Vegas on Wednesday and then I had to bang out an Ante Up column for a rushed deadline in record time, despite not having recovered from said trip to Vegas. Ordinarily I would have posted my most recent Ante Up column for some content, but for some reason the latest issue, despite being out in poker rooms, hasn't been published online yet.
I think there was a time when I could produce a few blog posts while in Vegas but lately that hasn't really happened, not sure why. I think I need more rest than I did in the past. I guess that's a reminder that last year at this time, instead of taking my regular Halloween visit to Vegas, I was getting my chest ripped open. Although this just-completed trip to Vegas wasn't nearly as successful as my previous visit, it was still a lot more fun than having open-heart surgery. So there's that.
Anyway, I just sent off my Ante Up column so I can now turn my attention to the blog. Before I took off for Vegas, I started on my write-up of the Binion's tournament I played in September, right before returning home. I didn't get very far but I will give it my full attention now.
However, you won't have to wait for me to finish that to get some new content--some great content, in fact. No, I'm not being immodest. I have a guest-post to present to you (likely on Sunday) and it is really, really good. You see while in Vegas this time I met a loyal blog reader, @AvoidOddLaw. By coincidence, we ended up playing the same tournament at the Venetian on Saturday. One of us had a really great run. So I asked him if he would be interested in doing a guest post about his experience and he agreed.
I have his post and I am quite confident all of you will love it. My guess is after you read it you will want him to keep doing guest-posts or perhaps even start his own blog. Although I should warn you, it's about as long or even longer than one of my posts!
So look forward to that. And then after I finish with my Binion's write-up, I'll have my own version of the same tourney to report on, and a few other stories from my most recent trip to get to.
In the meantime, our friend Memphis MOJO commented in response to my Halloween post that I forgot to include a picture of Elvira, who certainly belongs on any post titled "Halloween Boobage." So I leave you with these, under the theory "better late than never." Be back soon!
Thank you!
ReplyDeleteGlad to correct such an egregious omission, sir.
